| I was raised by my grandmother in her rooming house in Los Angeles. My grandmother was Native American and my life was flavored by her way of being. Her reality was basically spiritual. So naturally I resonate with the concept that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience. I teach art at the College of the Redwoods. My role as a teacher is twofold. One is to teach technique; the other is to build each student's confidence. When I'm not teaching, I am in my studio painting commissioned portraits, writing, and illustrating children's stories.
