MEG COURTNEY
I like to make things that people can use – things
that get eaten off of and drunk from and even
broken from everyday use. Throughout my life I
have experimented with different media but when
I found ceramics I felt I had come home; still I don’t
have to travel farther than my fingertips or my kiln
to feel I’m on a big adventure. I love the
unpredictability of the medium as I try new colors,
shapes and textures and ultimately subject the clay
to the trial of the fire. I’m as serious about my work
as I can be but at the same time I want to share the
humor I find in living this crazy life.
