| I have been working in oils since 1986. My work is representational with a focus on the emotional effects of visual perception. I studied primarily with Anthony Holdsworth, an urban landscape painter in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1994 I began to exhibit my work in many one man shows and group shows in the Bay Area and on the Mendocino Coast. My work has been shown in several galleries on the Mendocino Coast. I work directly from my subjects, without using photographs, since I find that photographs tend to inhibit composition as well as restricting the dynamic value and color gamut that we perceive. Recently I have been producing archival reproductions of many of my paintings. |
