ART WEININGER

Architecture has been my vocation for 30 plus years and jewelry has been my avocation for more than 20 of those years.  While working
in the two dimensionality of architectural plans, a friend introduced
me to the art of lost wax casting.  I was excited by the process of being
able to create a one-of-a-kind piece of miniature sculpture from beginning to end, staying within my own vision. I work primarily in 14 carat gold, and my jewelry style is organic, free flowing and highly textured.  I also enjoy the play of light on dark, so many of my pieces are oxidized to highlight that effect.

I have been a member of the Board of the Berkeley Arts and Crafts
Cooperative, and have sold my work at craft fairs that included the Live Oak Fair in Berkeley, the Sausalito and Mill Valley Art Shows, and San Francisco's Grant Street Art Fair.

My wife and I moved to Mendocino in 2006 with a renewed sense of creativity.
